Drink Up!
Standing in line at the local TJ Maxx and what do I see - Jelly Belly Sodas! Not only are the colors amazing the taste is fantastic! Flavors include Lemon Drop, Sour Cherry, Blueberry, Green Apple, Crushed Pineapple, Tangerine, Juicy Pear, Strawberry Jam and Very Cherry. Why or why do they put these items near the checkout lines? Of course, we were inspired to check out other really cool sodas (Izzy and Jones Soda) on the market. Not only are they colorful, how cool would these bottles look as favors or on a soda bar.
Wedding Soiree Exclusive - Brian Short
Exclusive Interview with Brian ShortMen are often ignored when it comes to wedding planning up and fashion. What is some advice you would give a bride about choosing the male fashions? Include the groom in the decision-making. Even though the groom will traditionally only wear a tux, make sure that he has something that he will be comfortable in. Treat finding his tux with the same excitement that you have finding your dress. If he shows no interest, that’s when you hire an consultant to the groom like myself who will go over trends, traditions, etc. We want to make sure that he’s comfortable on his wedding day. What are some of your favorite designers and why? I like Ralph Lauren because he has a great way of mixing colors. It’s also a lifestyle brand and men need clothes that fit their lifestyle. I also love Oswald Boateng because of the sharp lines on his garments and he’s very bold in his use of color. He’s a risk taker and I like a risk taker. What are some ways a groom can take a little fashion risk on his wedding day? There should be very little risk taking in formal-wear but if you want to add your personal style, you can add braces or suspenders for flavor or you can play with different colors with your socks and also with accessories. A fun watch with a colored band or a fabric brand can be just the touch you need. And like we ask every interview, please finish this sentence. On your wedding day ... make sure your shoes are shined and that you have a handkerchief. For more info or questions for Brian Short, you can find him on @tft_style or bshort@tftstyle.com

The photos of their day- as they explore the Serenbe property together- are like a dream. Fabulous Frock Friday
I have been in love with fabric with Swiss Dots for quite some time now... I think I saw a Carolina Herrera Swiss Dot bridal gown years and years ago and have been adoring the fabric ever since. So, when I saw this wedding (I. Die.)- and the bride's Pronovias gown and veil- on Style Me Pretty, it was love at first sight. Photo Credit: Marianne Taylor

Lauren & Matt
Lauren and Matt were married and had their reception at The Foundry at Puritan Mill on June 5th. Lauren chose a classic and slightly preppy palette for her wedding- navy, champagne, white and ivory and little pops of bright kelly green. Lauren got ready at the W Downtown and took some pre-wedding photos on-site. Love these custom wedding dress hangers from etsy featuring the bride's new last name- a lot of our brides are using these!Lauren and Matt saw each other before the ceremony to be sure they had plenty of time to enjoy themselves and greet guests during their cocktail hour and wedding reception. Love this photo of their "First Look."The flower you see on the escort cards came from Lauren's wedding invitation. We also included it, along with the couple's name, on the photo strip guests got to take home from the photo booth. The monogram on the cake was used on the menus as well as on custom cocktail coasters.Great idea! Changing your look for the reception can be as simple as removing your veil and adding flowers to your hair.We had a specialty lighting company hang a massive amount of string lights over the dance floor. I think it adds so much to the look and feel of the wedding- and the photos!Everyone enjoyed the party before sending the bride and groom off with a petal exit. The beautiful images are courtesy of Matt Daniel Photography. Head over to their blog to see more details from Lauren and Matt's wedding day. Lauren- it was a pleasure to work with you throughout the wedding planning process. Good luck with your move and to Matt with Law School.
Alicia and Matt - Park Tavern
Alicia and Matt's wedding was a little different for us because she was one of my good friends from high school. I have known both of them for a long time and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their special day! She was the most beautiful bride I'm sure most of you will agree and they make quite the handsome couple don't they?? Matt and Alicia love each other so much and truly enjoyed their wedding day knowing that they will be together forever. The Park Tavern in Atlanta set the scene for their reception with the ceremony in the garden. It rained lightly just before the ceremony but we were still able to have the ceremony outside. The couple wrote their own vows which brought the whole audience to tears...including myself. We love you guys and are so happy for the two of you! Thanks to The Long Farewell for the photos!

Mandy and John - May 22, 2010
Congratulations to Mandy and John on their recent nuptials on May 22, 2010! The couple chose The Biltmore for their wedding venue which suited their Old Atlanta theme. The bride and groom chose shades of pink, green and cream to compliment the gorgeous bridesmaids dresses and the beautiful linens that dressed the tables. It was an affair of 120 guests that were treated with a colorful candy buffet as a thanks for attending the wedding. The groom went to Ohio State which was cleverly displayed through his groom's cake. Affairs to Remember hosted an exquisite plated meal for the event and On Occasions of Atlanta provided the lovely flowers!! Thanks to Jessica Horwitz for the photos. We wish Mandy and John a lifetime of happiness and were honored to be part of their wedding day!

Marcel and Eundria - May 30, 2010
This is a true story of sweet love!! Marcel and Eundria were wed on May 30, 2010 at the Decatur Solarium. The bride and groom were so adorable together and could not hide their love for each other. We enjoyed helping them plan their wedding day and were amazed at how laid back Marcel and Eundria were during the months leading up to their big day! They truly enjoyed planning their wedding and were always excited to get closer to spending the rest of their lives together. The bride and groom chose a garden/rustic style for their wedding which was perfect for a spring wedding at the Solarium! Mason jars filled with wild flowers and gerbera daisies covered the tables and the yellow and white checked gingham style napkins were the perfect touch to making this idea come to life! The ceremony and reception was an intimate gathering of about 70 people. The bride wore a short 60's style gown and the groom accompanied her with his navy blue pin-striped suit. We will miss working with you guys and wish you the best in your new life together!

Wedding Soiree Exclusive - Kristin Turner
We caught up with celebrity fashion stylist, Kristin Turner She does amazing DIY on her website (check it out) and she was so very kind to take some time out for us and answer a few questions.Firstly, thanks so much for agreeing to do this with us. We’re curious to know how you got started as a celebrity fashion stylist. After I graduated college from Loyola University New Orleans I moved to Los Angeles and landed a job in fashion public relations. I worked for years on the business end of fashion, but then I decided I wanted to make the leap to the more hands on and creative end in the industry. I landed a job assisting one of Hollywood's top celebrity stylist and I've been styling ever since. In my free time I like to use my glue gun to DIY designer trends at home for half the cost!Since this is a bridal site, would you mind giving us some of your favorite trends that you think brides can incorporate into their wedding day look? My own personal style is very classic, but I've seen tons of adorable short wedding dresses. Brides are usually very traditional, but for those girls that are more adventurous and like to try things outside the box, a short dress is the way to go! I'd love to work up the nerve to wear a knee length fifties inspired dress with a blue shoe and a birdcage veil...so fun! What are three trends that you think need to go away?1. Paying too much for your wedding dress - There are many TV shows that glorify the idea of paying tons of money for that perfect wedding dress. However there are many different styles and price points for dresses and I feel that a bride shouldn't break the bank or spend a large portion of her budget on her dress. Yes it's a very important detail of your big day, but there are many ready to wear white dress that would make for an amazing dress on your wedding day. Even fashion retailers J Crew has an amazing wedding collection with many dress under $1000. One of my faves ... J. Crew2. Trashing the dress - I have no idea why so many brides are opting to trash their wedding dress after their big day? I think a bride should preserve and cherish their dress. After all you did spend a lot of time and effort to find the perfect one!3. White shoes - Sometimes you get a peek under a brides dress and she's wearing a hideous pair of white satin shoes that matched her white satin dress perfectly. I'd love when brides are adventurous and opt for a color pair of shoes. Maybe a blue shoe, or nude or maybe the color of our wedding. A color shoe is a nice way of pulling in an accent color into the brides outfit. It's also hidden treasure for all to see as you sashay down the aisle.Give is 5 things everyone woman should have in their closet.1. A white button down shirt2. A navy pencil shirt3. A pair of nude peeptoe pumps4. At least one designer bag5. A little black dress aka a freakum dress And lastly, finish this sentence. On your wedding day you should.... cherish.every.moment. xo Readers can follow me on twitter @kris10turner, my website www.kris10turer.comhttp://www.kris10turer.wordpress.com or watch the weekly fashion vlogVainglorious, at www.youtube.com/vainglorioushttp://www.youtube.com/vainglorious

What's Your Style?
Via How About Orange - we took the quiz and the verdicts are in! This was a lot of fun and pretty accurate. Spend a few minutes on the Ethan Allen's website to determine your wedding style. The verdict is in—your style is Metro. Metro is a great modern space. Chic, comfortable, clean. Do the math. Strong horizontals plus graphic clarity plus a fearless blending of metal, woods, leathers, and wovens; minus the superfluous and the clichéd; equals urban architecture domesticated, a vision for living. This online portfolio shows your style. Brought to life in rooms. A subtle mix of furniture, accessories, and attitude. Different “looks.” Because every home should be unique. The verdict is in—your style is Loft. Loft is energetic. Fashion-driven. Practical. Materials borrowed from industry, architecture, and nature. Clean shapes. Punches of color. Spontaneous and fresh. Kids and pets? Bring them on.
Qunnie & Eric on Style Me Pretty and in Weddings Unveiled Magazine!
It has taken literally every. last. bit. of my self control to not post this wedding prior to today. We are so excited to see Qunnie and Eric's wedding on Style Me Pretty today! Qunnie and Eric were married on Thursday, May 27th at Serenbe in Palmetto, Georgia. There are so many amazing details, I kind of don't know where to begin... So, I'll start at the beginning. Qunnie came up with an adorable theme, "Peachy Sweet Love," that was reflected in many of the details- even the smallest details such as the vintage stamps on the amazing custom Rifle Design invitations and sweet Georgia peaches subtly incorporated into the decor. After a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, Qunnie and Eric had their wedding ceremony under a huge, old maple tree where they exchanged personal vows and Cartier wedding bands. Qunnie handcrafted the screen printed fan programs for the ceremony. And just look at the PEONIES in Qunnie's bouquet! To die for! After the ceremony, guests moved to the Guest House pool lawn and cabana for cocktails, canapes and, of course, sweet peach tea served in mason jars. The reception was held on the Guest House lawn and the decor was simply amazing- sweet, vintage, rustic, romantic, perfect. After the couple cut their 3 tier peach buttermilk pound cake, the intimate dinner party carried on with live Jazz music in the background. Guests had fun taking pictures with various props in the make shift photo booth with a Fuji instax mini camera before guests called it a night and made their way to their respective cottages on the Serenbe property. The couple will have two more wedding ceremonies- one in Shanghai and another in Malaysia- and will be honeymooning in Japan later this year. Pick up the latest issue of Weddings Unveiled Magazine- on newsstands tomorrow- to see more of Qunnie and Eric's fabulous wedding.Vendors: Photography: Josh Merideth, Bella Grace Studios | Invitations by: Rifle Design | Catering, Decor, Cake: Gloriosa Design | Venue: Serenbe | Music: Nicole Chillemi | Bride's ceremony gown: Watters + Watters | Bride's custom reception gown: Holly Stadler | Bride and Bridesmaids Shoes: Vivienne Westwood
Honeymoon Packing Tips: Part II
Now that you know what to pack, here are some tips on how to pack it all.We look to Martha Stewart for tips on packing your hanging items and toiletries:HangingFor the most foolproof wrinkle-free packing, suits and blouses should be stuffed with tissue and encased in dry-cleaning bags before going into a travel garment bag. The tissue keeps the fabrics from crushing, and the plastic reduces friction so clothes can settle into their natural shape. Pack everything else -- shoes, toiletries, books, papers, valuables -- in a separate carry-on bag.ToiletriesTo avoid leaks caused by pressure changes during air travel, fill travel-size plastic bottles partway, squeeze out excess air, and cap them, creating a vacuum. Then double-bag them, first in a cosmetics bag or large resealable plastic bag, then in a plastic shopping bag. Never pack toiletries in the same bag with clothes -- a single spill can cause great damage. Along with toiletries, your carry-on bag should hold your jewelry and other valuables; eyewear; a travel first-aid kit; travel documents; maps; and reading material. In an article for Apartment Therapy, packing expert Doug Dyment of OneBag.com says "If it's not on your list, it shouldn't be in your bag." "What happens with people is that they pack before their trip, and that packing activity consists mostly of talking to yourself and saying, 'Well I might need this and I might need that and what if the queen invites me to dinner?' And that's death to light packing." Dyment has two big tricks for packing a bag correctly: Don't let any space go unused, and wrap your clothes in bundles. "If you're packing a pair of running shoes, say, don't forget there's a lot of space inside those shoes that you can use to pack stuff," he says. When it comes to clothing, Dyment says travelers who fold items individually, put them in a stack and force them in the suitcase are making a huge mistake. Instead, he suggests using a technique called bundle wrapping, because it keeps clothes from getting wrinkled and takes up less space. "You think of laying a shirt flat on your bed and placing this bundle where the chest would go and then gently wrap the sleeves around the bundle, and then bring the bottom up and wrap it around the top," he says. Here is a diagram to help you pack like a pro:Caio! Bon Voyage! Au revoir!
Small Places Delux
It is amazing what you can do with small spaces - our wedding studio is a testimonial! Sandra Foster turned a hunting lodge cabin into a shabby chic Victorian cottage (9 x 14 foot) using flea market finds and salvaged materials. We would love to host a small wedding at this cute little house - guests are optional!True Love StoryTodd Foster "Nothing came easy for either of us except our love for each other and the ability to show personal support in each others endeavors. For all of you...never ever give up or tell yourself " I couldn't do that". If another human being can, most likely so can you."Sandra making paper flowers garlands for the cottagePhotos: New York Times
Honeymoon Packing Tips: Part I
As I prepare to depart on a trip abroad for my Birthday (and a much needed break after Spring wedding season) later this month, I have been thinking a lot about packing- what to bring, how much to bring and how to get it all in my suitcase(s)! I am sure you brides-and-grooms-to-be are also thinking about this as you plan your honeymoon, so we decided to post this two part series of packing tips. {And don't you love the pretty luggage set above from Steamline?}1. Pack light Seems obvious but it’s always a challenge to pack as light as you know you should, because you want to look your best when on vacation. However, there are some things you can do to reduce the load and still look great. The first is to coordinate your vacation wardrobe so that every item you pack can mix and match with every other item. Choose classic pieces with complementary colors as your basic wardrobe - a single pair of slacks, 1 pair of shorts, and a skirt if appropriate. These classic items can be combined with a selection of tops, belts, scarves, wraps and other less bulky accessories to fit most every occasion. And, by coordinating your vacation wardrobe you will also reduce the number of shoes you need to pack, which is a quick way to reduce bulk. For example, 1 pair of shoes for traveling, a pair of sandals and a pair of flit-flops is all that you really need for a tropical vacation, unless you plan to go on an eco adventure. 2. Don’t pack valuables If you can’t live without that precious pendent, your grandmother’s ring, or your designer watch, then DO NOT pack them, and DO NOT bring them with you on vacation. What with the opportunity for misplaced luggage, petty theft, and items you just forget to repack, savvy travelers tend to pack costume jewelry, whether or not their room has a safe. And… You don’t want to wear flashy or expensive items while you are on vacation anyway because doing so will only attract pickpockets and undesirables. There is nothing that can spoil your vacation faster than loosing something irreplaceable. So reduce stress and leave it behind, or… Purchase travel insurance for anything of value that you must take with you, like your camera for example. Your homeowners’ policies may cover items that have been lost or stolen while on vacation. 3. Carry on essentials onlyPack only essentials in your carry on luggage - passport, travel documents, money, a complete change of clothes, your bathing suit, and perhaps a good book. Delayed luggage, which often gets delivered to you the next day, is a lot easier to tolerate if you are in possession of a change of clothes, your medication and essential grooming tools, money and all your travel documents. This way you’ll breeze through any challenge the journey trough your way. Source

Jill & Kevin
Jill and Kevin were married on June 5th in the North Georgia Mountains. Jill and Kevin are adorable together. They are the type of couple that you are around and think, "they are so right for each other." The ceremony setting on a lake with the Mountains in the background was nothing short of breathtaking. Jill and Kevin worked hard on the sweet details for their Spring nuptials including gorgeous florals by Jill's Mom (who is a professional florist), hand painted stationery from Momental Designs and a "Naked Peggies" cake topper. And any wedding that includes a dog is an automatic favorite of mine.Thank you for sharing these gorgeous images, Christine Gallagher! We are looking forward to seeing more of this wedding in the next The Knot Georgia Magazine! And Congratulations, Jill and Kevin! You were a pleasure to work with. Enjoy settling into married life in Chicago and keep in touch!
Tray Chic
The use of table trays in place of place mats is a great idea for a fun tablescape. The branch handle trays are the perfect accessories for this vintage table.Via Mochatini blog, the photo shoot incorporated "silver bowls from India, cheese board and burlap runner from pottery barn, lion head soup bowls from william sonoma, steak knives from fishes eddy, napkins are from target, the plates are vintage from a thrift store, and butterfly print tablecloth were hand."Photos: Manvi drona-hidalgo

Culture Inspired
Traditional Korean attire is called Hanbok (South Korea) or Chosŏn-ot (North Korea). The dress is often worn at weddings, is known for its vibrant colors and simple lines. We found a few pictures of the dress with a modern twist. Actress, Sandra Oh wore a couture Hanbok to the SAG award, which created a huge buzz on the red carpet. The bride below mixes the traditional attire with a clutch, bouquet and stilettos. We are feeling inspired!Photos: via jennikim.wordpress.comhttp://olalin.com

Amy's Bridal Portrait Session {and the benefits of having a bridal portrait session}
I know what you are thinking: "A bridal portrait!? How old school." It seems as though many brides think bridal portraits are a thing of the past or ultra traditional, but here are some advantages of having a portrait session before your wedding day:*Practice makes perfect. Schedule your hair and make-up trial for the same day as the bridal portrait session. You will then get to see how your hair and make-up will look in photos on the day of the wedding and you can tweak if necessary. You will also get a sense of how your dress, veil and accessories will feel on your wedding day, so if you need to modify anything, you will have an opportunity to do so before you walk down the aisle.*Get "the best of both worlds." Having a traditional/formal wedding? Think about taking your bridal portraits in a field or a much more casual setting so you get a variety of looks between your portrait and wedding day. Bring accessories that emphasize your personality. Cowboy boots might not be right for the day of your wedding, but if you love them, get a few pics at your bridal session.*A bridal portrait session can save you time on the day of the wedding. With those photos out of the way, there will be more time for group bridal party and family photos which will hopefully get you to your reception faster! And last, but not least, I think bridal portraits like Amy's look more like a magazine photo shoot than the uber posed, traditional portrait (those should be a thing of the past)! Thank you Tina Rowden for sharing these beautiful images with us and congratulations to Amy who was married last weekend.
Jen & Richard
Hi!!! So sorry for being a little MIA lately, Peeps! Spring wedding season has been in FULL SWING over here. But we are back- in a big way! We have lots of amazing real wedding posts coming up, so stay tuned! The first post could be called "how to have an adorable wedding, even in the rain." Jen and Richard (remember their fab e-session?) were married on April 24th at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The day started off with photos (gorgeous photos by W. Scott Chester) of the bride, groom and bridal party. I love Jen's dress, purple Kate Spade slingbacks and net veil.I love this shot just after the ceremony ends. The couple headed to their reception site- Dunwoody Country Club- for post wedding photos. Jen knew there was a very good chance it was going to rain, so she managed to find color coordinated polka dot umbrellas for post-ceremony bridal party photos. I adore the bridesmaids in different colors with coordinating shoes!Jen actually attached fabric flowers to shoes she bought for the bridesmaids.I still do not know how Jen managed to find Hunter Wellies in the exact shade of purple to coordinate with her other wedding details.Jen and Richard had their first dance to their friend singing an awesome rendition of "You are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne.Amy Osaba did the beautiful flowers- lush peonies, parrot tulips, ranunculus + more.I leave you with their cute ring shot. I found this little canvas bag attached to the basket that the programs were in. It said on the outside "To:" and "From:" and thought... how perfect!

We have teamed up with the lovely ladies at Glendalough Manor in a series of YouTube "wedding know-how" videos that air on YouTube once a month. Thanks to the FABULOUS SCG Productions, we have taken a different approve on the same old boring wedding advice that you find all over the Internet. We think they are pretty funny as we make fools out of ourselves all over the Internet but we do it all out of love for our brides' to be out there that are planning their upcoming nuptials!!!! Follow us every month as we launch a new topic and let us know your feedback!! Don't forget to become a fan of J. Harlow on Facebook!! http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Tyrone-GA/J-Harlow-Weddings/225366675701?ref=ts&ajaxpipe=1&__a=6Here are our videos so far......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgF6LLEqEkohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mnz43bUZP98http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7tDXE9WZjchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJImMJ_YH6ghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJImMJ_YH6g
Welcome To Atlanta........
Your invitations have been sent out and you get excited each time you open the mail to see which one of your beloved family or friends is coming to your wedding! There is not much more to do for your wedding and you are looking forward to seeing all of your friends and family when the big weekend arrives. By planes, trains or automobiles, your guests are spending money and time to support you and your fiance on what is probably the most important day of your life. Some couples get so busy with the wedding planning that they forget about accommodating the guests that will be traveling to their wedding. Don't fret!!! There are some great ways that you can welcome your guests and thank them for making the trip for your special day. The most important thing you want to do is to block several rooms at a local hotel. Usually, you can do this about 4-5 months out from the wedding date. Most hotels offer a group rate or a special discount for blocking such a high volume of rooms. When you are deciding on a location for the hotel, you will want to take into consideration distance, quality and affordability. Pick a location that is close to your ceremony and reception venue(s) so that your guests do not have to travel far or risk getting lost. Be sure you pick a hotel that is moderately priced that most people can afford; you can even select two different hotels for those with different taste. Atlanta is a great place to visit and there are so many activities your guests can do before and after the wedding festivities! A really nice way to welcome your guests is to put together welcome baskets that are ready for them in their hotel rooms when they arrive (J. Harlow can do this for you in one of our packages:). Include some relaxation/spa products, eatable goodies and refreshments. Another crafty idea is to include a map of Atlanta and some brochures for local attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, The World of Coke and some Varsity Hats. Try to include some great, trendy restaurants as well for those that are traveling without children and want to have a night out on the town. These are just some ways you can welcome your guests and let them know that you appreciate their travel!! Believe me, they won't forget it and will always remember your wedding weekend!
Congratulations J.Crew!

Real Wedding Feature: Heidi & Andy
I have known Heidi for quite some time. She is the Catering Sales Manager at 103 West, so we have worked together on many occasions for mutual client's weddings and rehearsal dinners. I was so excited to hear that Heidi was getting married last year. She and Andy are the cutest couple.Heidi and Andy were married in Heidi's hometown in Des Moines, Iowa at the church she grew up in. Heidi looked beautiful in a Melissa Sweet gown and I adore her bouquet full of peonies, roses and ranunculus. Her girls looked great in floor-length black and white Jim Hjelm gowns- and check out the back of those dresses!Andy and the gentleman looked dapper! After the ceremony, the couple took photos together before proceeding to their reception at the Temple for Performing Arts. This is one of my favorite images from their day. Absolutely gorgeous. The reception florals and decor reinforced the black, white and hot pink color palette. My favorite reception details are the cake and the favors. The imported olive oil favors were chosen to represent where Andy and Heidi met- Italy. Such a great, personal touch!Photo Credit: Paul Taylor Photography
FAQ: How does a Wedding Planner/Coordinator differ from a Catering Manager?
We (and other planners around the country) are frequently asked the difference in our role versus a Catering Manger's role on the day of your wedding. These differences were laid out in an article by Mary Dann-McNamee in the Spring issue of Inside Weddings. I though it would be useful to share that information here. I have added a few notes as well.Your Catering Manager (usually) will:+Provide a personalized tour of the venue (this may also be the responsibility of the venue sales manager if you are bringing in an outside caterer to an event space)+Recommend special event professionals that have worked with them/at your venue previously that do a great job+Act as a menu consultant for all food and beverage selections+Detail your Banquet Event Order (BEO)/catering contract, outlining all of your event specifics and ensure that it is all communicated flawlessly to the operational team of the venue/caterer+Create an estimate of charges outlining your financial commitments to the venue/caterer+Create a floor plan of your function space in order for you to provide seating arrangements+Oversee the ceremony and reception room(s) set up, food preparation and other venue/catering operations+Act as the on-site liaison between your wedding planner and venue/catering operations staff+Ensure a seamless transition to the venue/catering banquet captain once the grand entrance has occurred and dinner begins (this is typically when the Catering Manager leaves the reception)+Review your banquet checks for accuracy, prior to the completion of the final billYour Wedding Planner/Consultant (usually) will:+Provide a wide variety of professional referrals to suit your taste and budget+Assist with etiquette and protocol for invitations, family matters, ceremony and toasts+Create a comprehensive timeline for your rehearsal and wedding day including the ceremony and reception+Work with you to organize and coordinate your ceremony rehearsal+Remind bridal party of all pertinent call times+Confirm call times and details with vendors several days prior to the wedding+Act as a liaison between your family, bridal party, band/DJ, florist, photographer, videographer, caterer and other vendors to create a seamless operation+Assist the bride with dressing+Ensure the ladies have their corsages, bouquets, etc. and assist with the pinning of the boutonnieres before photos+Deliver and arrange ceremony programs, escort cards, place cards, favors and any personal items (cake knives, toasting flutes, guest book, personal or family photos, etc....)+Coordinate the ceremony (line up bridal party, assist with brides dress, etc.)+Work with the venue and catering staff to ensure the reception room is set up properly with the appropriate number of tables (with table numbers or reserved signs placed correctly) and the proper number of seats at each table+Coordinate the reception (bridal party/bride and groom's entrance, first dance + parent dances, toasts, cake cutting, grand exit, etc.)+Collect personal items and gifts as the night goes on and put them in the assigned persons vehicle or hotel room*I have included the information from the article that pertains to the role of your wedding planner/consultant/coordinator regardless of the level of service you have hired them for (Full Service or "Day of"). Some of the services offered by your planner that Mary talks about in the article may pertain only to a higher level of planning, so I have omitted those here. I hope this helps- I know it can be confusing who is responsible for what on the wedding day with so many vendors!Up next on FAQ: There is no such thing as a "Day of" coordinator.

Coral | Pink | Yellow
We have seen a lot of coral at our weddings lately- such a fun a vibrant color when paired with yellow and/or pink!Priscilla of Boston has apparently caught onto this trend as well- they are incorporating the colors into their bridesmaids line (via OneWed).Inspiration board from Style Me Pretty. Fabulous Frock Friday
I absolutely fell in love with the accessories from Untamed Petals I came across on Ruffled Blog a few weeks ago- FAB indeed!
Ashley & Daniel
You remember Ashley and Daniel, right? They were married on April 10th. Pre-wedding photos took place at the W Midtown. The ceremony was held at Christ the King. The sanctuary is so pretty... and Ashley and Daniel were fortunate that the gorgeous flowers on the alter and around the church from Easter services the weekend before still looked amazing. There was a small break between the ceremony and reception, so there was plenty of time for photos after the wedding at the Duck Pond behind the church and some industrial shots near the reception venue. {Love this shadow shot}The reception was at Puritan Mill. I love the exposed wood beams in the ceiling- such a raw and rustic feeling. In addition to cake, guests enjoyed a sundae station for dessert. I had fun playing with this ring shot with Scott and his team.I think these shots sum up how much fun the Bride and Groom and the guests had rocking out to Papa Sol.Guests saw the couple off with a lavender toss. I love Daniel's expression in this photo- it really looks like he has had the best night of his life.Congratulations Ashley and Daniel! It was a pleasure working with you! Thank you to the very talented W. Scott Chester for these wonderful photos- head over to their blog to see all of the amazing images from Ashley and Daniel's wedding day!

Bollywood Wedding
One of my best friends, Carla, attended this wedding earlier this year and enjoyed it so much she sent me the link to the photos. Shannon and Pratap are Carla's co-workers at Google. They were married in San Francisco. The wedding day started out with a stroll through Delores Park where the couple was greeted with thunderous applause from all of the people in the park enjoying the perfectly sunny day.The couple then headed to their ceremony and reception venue- Foreign Cinema. The ceremony was a multi-cultural celebration combining American and Indian wedding rituals.Love the stationery details- and that guest tables were named after the couples favorite movies. The reception was full of love, family and friends- and old movies on the big screen under the "stars."Photo credit: One Love Photography
Happy Derby Day!
We love celebrating Derby Day each year by remembering Jenna and John's Derby Day Wedding that was featured in the National Knot Magazine and on Snippet and Ink. I still love looking at the gorgeous flowers and hand painted invitations from Momental Designs.I am also in love with this "Lucky in Love" stationery from Miss Pickles Press. And we're off the the races...!
Peacock Inspiration!!!!
We had the pleasure of Designing a showcase event and mock wedding at Glendalough Manor on January 7, 2010! Our vision was to begin the cocktail area into a breathtaking lounge enhanced with beautiful white fabric, outstanding columns, and hues of blue. With the help of Geri Sims Draping Company, we transformed the pre-function area into an inviting space to await the arrival of the bride and groom. The reception was inspired by peacock feathers and an infusion of deep purples, blues and teal. We used a combination of estate tables, square tables and round tables to give the room some dimension. The peacock feather as well as the georgeous arrangements pulled the whole look together! Help!!! How Do I Get My Un-involved Groom Involved?
A wedding is time where a bride and groom make the decision to profess their love for one another in the company of their closest family and friends. It is a time where the bride and groom can come together as a team and intertwine their different ideas to create their dream wedding right? Well, while there are a few grooms out there that participate in the planning, there are far too many that would rather just show up on wedding day and enjoy the wonderful wedding that his bride pulled together. So, how do you entice your groom to get involved in planning your wedding? Let’s face it, we know that they are men and there a lot of aspects about a wedding that men are just not interested in. However, there are a lot of areas that I guarantee they would love to participate in. For example, I assure you that your groom will attend the taste testing with the Caterer. This is a great way to get his opinion on what he would like to serve at the wedding. Also, if you are going to hire some sort of transportation for you and your new hubby to make your grand exit in, this is a great task to give to your groom. Guys love cars and the idea of being able to leave in a vintage or fancy car makes them happy. These are just a few ideas but just remember that he is part of your big day more than anyone else and try to include him or listen to his advice whenever the occasion arises!

The "Green Bride"
2010 is all about saving money and equally important; saving the environment! Let's face it, the economy is tough making it more difficult than ever for most couples to spend a ton of money on their wedding. Fortunately, it is becoming a common trend for couples to "Go Green" on their wedding day. There are some fantastic ways to create an eco-chic wedding without breaking your budget. One of the best ways to create your eco-chic wedding is to start with the venue selection. Choosing a venue that is located outdoors allows you to utilize the natural beauty and landscape without being wasteful with live flowers that have to be brought into the venue. Also, if you choose a time of year that has an appropriate climate (March, April, September and October) where your guests will not be freezing cold or scolding hot, you do not need to use air conditioning or heat therefore saving energy! Some eco-friendly brides are going all the way by using organic cotton napkins, biodegratable plates, leaves and branches in their centerpieces, and even renting hybrid cars for their guests to use to get around the city. These are just a few ideas to help you have an eco-chic wedding!

The Power of Fruit!!!
In the history of weddings, flowers have always played and intricate role in creating a magical scene. However, brides today are constantly finding creative ways for their wedding to be one of a kind. Fruit is one of the most popular alternatives to flowers for a number of different reasons. The most obvious is budget saving. By using fruit as centerpieces, brides are able to save a ton of money rather than if they were to purchase floral arrangements for every table. For those environmentally friendly brides, substituting flowers for fruit is a great way to help the planet! The core of a wedding is the color scheme and since fruit comes in an array of colors, it is a fantastic way to add that pop of color that some flowers just cannot add. Check out these amazing centerpieces built out of fruit and see more ideas at http://www.theknot.com/

Find The Perfect Hair Style For Your Wedding Day!!!
Tired of seeing the same old updo? Well, you are in luck because http://www.brides.com/ showcases some hot new looks for your wedding day hair!! Weather you are looking for a look that is glamorous or more casual, you are sure to find the perfect look for your wedding. The most common mis-conception that brides have is that they have to do a tight updo for their wedding. However, this particular hair style does not suite every bride. A good rule of thumb to remember is that your wedding hair should reflect your personality. If you normally wear your hair down, try a style that is similar to your everyday hair yet spruced up a bit. Check out these great looks!! http://www.brides.com/ for more styles...
Jennifer and Brandon: May 30, 2009
Jennifer and Brandon got married at the beautiful King and Prince Resort on St. Simmons Island, GA May 30, 2009. The very talented Jeremy Harwell was her photographer and captured these stunning moments from her wedding day. The couple chose a blue and yellow color scheme which was perfect for her beachside affair. Their ceremony took place at the King and Prince Resort overlooking the ocean! The reception was held inside. The lemons were used to tie in the color yellow and give it that summer appeal! We wish Jennifer and Brandon the best in their new journey together!!!!!

Real Wedding: Krupa and Mukesh
We had a great time planning Krupa and Mukesh's wedding on July 4, 2009 at Glendalough Manor!
The Kapok Experience!!
We had the privelage of planning Josh and Jennifer's wedding that took place at the beautiful Kapok Special Events Facility in Clearwater, FL. The wedding took place on August 22, 2009 and what started off to be a rainy morning, turned out to be a sunny Florida afternoon. With its old world quality, The Kapok houses a beautiful garden, ceremony location and a majestic ballroom. There is truly nothing like it! http://www.kapokspecialevents.com/Jennifer and Josh decided to go with a black and (apple) red color scheme for their big day. The ceremony was lined with tall vases filled with apples and a floating candle with red rose petals scattered in the center of the aisle. We helped the couple save some money on their reception centerpieces by utilizing the ceremony vases on the reception tables. Tall centerpieces made with calla lilies and roses graced the other reception tables. We loved working with Jennifer and Josh and we wish them much love and happiness in their new life as husband and wife!
